Ten held for offering prayer at Kolar mosque amid lockdown

Kolar: As many as ten persons were arrested for offering prayers at a mosque in violation of the lockdown norms.
Though religious congregations have been banned due to the nationwide lockdown to contain the spread of coronavirus few persons had gathered at the mosque located near the municipal hospital in the district to offer namaz. Upon coming to know of the incident Kolar Tahsildar Sobhita alongwith police officials visited the mosque and detained ten persons.
A case has been registered in Kolar City police station in this regard
Meanwhile lockdown relaxations were allowed in Kolar, from Thursday, as it has been declared green zone, as no case of coronavirus has been detected in the district. Barring salons, beauty parlors most other shops were allowed to operate. The otherwise empty roads was bustling with people who forgot all about social distancing rules.
In this backdrop, Kolar DC has warned people to comply with the social distancing norms and to wear face masks while stepping out of homes.
