
Terror alert: Deputy Director of Fisheries urges fisherfolk to report suspicious activity

Mangaluru: Following orders of district administration, Dakshina Kannada Deputy Director of Fisheries D Thippeswamy on Saturday convened a meeting with union leaders, representatives of fishermen associations and asked them to report any suspicious movement, especially that of boats in the coastal area to police control room.
Speaking at the meeting held at Fisheries office in Bunder here Thippeswamy urged fishermen to be vigilant and cooperate with the police to report suspicious any activity by dialing 100.
In the backdrop of intel inputs hinting at a bomb attack in major cities, including Mangaluru the police have beefed up security at strategic locations including Mangaluru airport, railway station in the city.
The meeting was attended by department officers.
