Mangaluru: “State Exchequer has Rs 1,0000 crore in current account. I have a transparent office and will not stop any development works,” said the Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy adding that the pace of the government officials is not adjusting to his pace of development works while thinking of political instability predicted by various media houses and the opposition.

The CM was in Mangaluru to participate various programmes including Mangaluru Dasara. After inaugurating Brand Mangaluru, a joint initiative by the Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists Union (DKDWJU), Mangaluru Press Club and Pathrika Bhavan Trust he addressed the gathering and said that despite the various predictions of instability of the coalition government (JD(S)-Congress), the government has finished 6 months. He ridiculed the failing deadlines set by the opposition and said, “We will sail smoothly.”

Development Works in the state

Speaking on the development works in the state, Mr Kumaraswamy said, “When farm loans were waived, people cried foul. It hasn’t affected the state and there is no dearth of money in our state treasury. The state Exchequer has Rs 1,0000 crore and will be utilized for all development works in the state,” he said.

Pointing out that the officials were finding it difficult to keep up with his work speed, the CM said, “The issue is that the officials are under wrong impression. Due to the speculations about fall of coalition government, the officials are not keen on doing their best. I have maintained a transparent office and all the files are moving fast,” he said.

The CM also advised media houses to not to air speculations on the function of the government which could dampen spirit of the officials and said, “Air or publish whichever is true, but do not print or air fake news.”

HDK to visit Kodagu

CM Kumaraswamy said that he will camp a entire day at flood hit Kodagu district on October 17th.

“I will personally sit down and ask all those displace due to flood, what they want, how the government can help them and ask how much compensation they want. I will not go by the rule book of NDRF and other central agencies,” said the CM explaining the aim of his visit to Kodagu.
