Thief caught within hours by locals using CCTV footage

Mangaluru: Alert locals successfully caught a man who allegedly stole mobile phones and wallets from bags belonging to swimmers here on the night of Saturday April 13.
A few children accompanied by their parents had been to Kadrikere near Kadri temple for swimming on Saturday evening. Since they were venturing into the water, they left their belongings in a nearby shed.
Later, when they returned back to the shed they found that their mobile phones and wallets were missing.

When the people who lost their belonging checked the CCTV footage there, they saw a man said to be from north Karnataka stealing their belongings. The footage depicted the man taking out a plastic bag from his pocket and filling it with their belongings including towels and mobile phone. The swimmers soon alerted the locals and together went on a search to locate the thief,
Thief caught
The thief was finally spotted by the locals at near KSRTC bus stand at around 10 pm and found the stolen items in his possessions. He was later handed over to Kadri police who also registered a case in this regard.
