Three arrested for allegedly stoning, damaging parked buses

Mangaluru: Mulki police have arrested three persons charged of damaging parked buses by throwing stones at them. The accused are identified as Samsheer M (27), and Abdul Sattar (21), both from Peraje village in Bantwal taluk, and Mohammed Riaz (28) from Nehrunagar, Narikombu.
The incident
Apparently, the accused arrived during the wee hours of September 4 between 2 and 3 am, had pelted stones at five buses parked at Kinnigoli Batttakody and near Kateel petrol bunk before fleeing.
However, the entire incident was of damaging the buses were recorded in the CCTV camera installed near the petrol bunk at Kinnigoli. Since the areas fall within Mulki and Bajpe police station limits, separate cases were booked and a special police team was created to investigate the incidents.
The arrest
The accused were taken into custody from Kolnad near Mulki on Tuesday September 17 and a Maruti Alto car, used by them when committing the offence, was confiscated.
The operation was conducted by under the leadership of Mangaluru (north) assistant commissioner of police, Srinivas Gowda by police inspector, Anantapadmanabha, sub-inspector, Sheetal Alagur and other staffs.
