Three dead in road accident near Tumkur

Tumkur: Three people were killed on the spot and one was severely injured in crash between an auto rickshaw and a private bus close to Belagumba on the outskirts of Tumakuru city on Sunday.
The deceased have been recognized as Shadat Khan (24) the auto rickshaw driver from Sadashivanagar, Tumakuru; Maruthi(15) a Class 9 atudent of Hanumanthapura, Tumakuru; and Lohith Kumar(19) of Hanumanthapura, Tumakuru. Vasanthakumar sustained injuries and is admitted in Tumakuru government hospital. All the expired were in the auto rickshaw.
The mishap took place when the auto rickshaw that was coming to Tumakuru from Devarayanadurga slammed into a private transport going towards Urdigere at a turn at 4.30 p.m. close to Kempegowda College near Belagumba on the outskirts of Tumakuru. Therefore the three who were in the auto rickshaw including the auto rickshaw driver were killed on spot and another passenger sustained serious injuries.
The drivers of both vehicles could not see the vehicle coming from the opposite side because of the curve and collided with each other.
A case has been registered at Kyatsandra police station.
