Time to rededicate oneself to nationalism,Constitution: Speaker

New Delhi: Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan today greeted the people on the eve of Republic Day, urging them to renew their pledge to dedicate themselves to the ideals of nationalism, patriotism and the Constitution. Extending her wishes, Mahajan recalled India’s rise as a Republic and termed it was a milestone towards realising the hopes and aspirations of the people.

She said that the country’s constitutional ethos and democratic legacy facilitated the political and socio-economic uplift of the people, besides raising the profile of India in the world. “Let us renew our pledge to rededicate ourselves to the ideals of nationalism, patriotism and constitution and to work, with devotion and self-belief to make India stronger,” she said in an official statement. The speaker also saluted the brave personnel of the armed forces on this occasion.
