Trump supporters storm US Capitol: All you need to know

US President Donald Trump’s supporters violently forced their way inside the US Capitol, where lawmakers were meeting to certify Joe Biden as the winner of the November 3 elections.
Hours before the storming of the US Capitol, Donald Trump addressed his supporters at a rally, protesting against the certification of Joe Biden’s victory in US Presidential elections.
“After this, we’re going to walk down there…we’re going to walk down…to the Capitol,” Trump said. Three of Trump’s tweets were also removed by Twitter for ‘severe violations of Civic Integrity policy’.
Trump supporters clashed with the police, attempting to gain access to the US Capitol building while the Congress debated an objection to Arizona’s Electoral College votes. The Senate proceedings were halted as Trump supporters attempted to storm the Capitol.
The mob managed to get past the guards and enter the Senate chamber, where just moments earlier the election results were being certified. Police attempted to retaliate with tear gas, but were heavily outnumbered and overwhelmed by the mob.
The violence, that forced lawmakers to flee the US Capitol, resulted in the death of four people. Among them was a woman who was shot by police. Three others lost their lives to medical emergencies,
