TTK Prestige crowns winners of first ever ‘Prestige Home Chef 2019’ competition in B’luru

Bengaluru: TTK Prestige, India’s number 1 kitchen appliance brand, today announced the winners of the first ever ‘Prestige Home Chef 2019’ competition in Bengaluru. Bijesh K.V, an IT sales executive, bagged the title of Bangalore’s best home chef this year and won TTK Prestige products worth INR 50k. Fahima Zahid, a home-maker, was the first runner up, winning Prestige products worth INR 30k whilst Manas Ranjan Raut, Ex Airforce Junior Warrant Officer and fitness trainer won INR 20k worth of Prestige products as the second runner up. 

The competition, for home cooks, was judged by celebrity chef and Masterchef runner up Shazia Khan alongside Chef Selvaraju, Executive Chef of Taj Vivanta, Chef Abhijit Saha, Founding Director and Chef, Avant Garde Hospitality and Dinesh Garg, Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing, TTK Prestige Ltd. The finale saw seven semi-finalists battle it out in front of the judges to win the title of Bangalore’s best home chef. The winning dish prepared by Bijesh was Spiced Kiwi rice, orange chicken with a dash of honey and choco orange mugcake with an Indian spice twist. Fahima prepared chicken changezi and coconut panacotta with mango coulis. Manas cooked Paneer Spinach Mozerella crispy ball and Caremel carrot halwa truffles for dessert

Chef Shazia Khan said: ‘I was very impressed by the quality of dishes prepared by the participants of the Prestige Home Chef 2019 competition. Food has always been an integral part of our culture, but I was particularly struck with how Bangaloreans have begun to experiment with different cuisines and embrace different kinds of food. It was a difficult choice as all the finalists were accomplished cooks, but our winners displayed risk, great technique and skill in their cooking, which ultimately enabled them to stand out from the others.’’
