Tulu movie Pingara likely to be released next month

Bengaluru: Tulu movie Pingara, which was adjudged the best Asian film award by Network For Promotion of Asian and Asia Pacific Cinema (NETPAC) at the Bengaluru International Film Festival recently is likely to be released in in the month of April or May.
Speaking to mediapersons at Hotel Woodlands here on Thursday, Avinash Shetty said that the film may release in the month of April or May but the date is yet to be finalised.
The movie, based on Daivaradhane and depicts the life and discrimination of Dalits who invoke local deities has also won awards in the Indian Cinema Competition 2020 and Kannada Cinema Competition 2020. It shows how Dalits and other backward classes of the society are ill treated by the upper caste.
The movie has also been selected for screening at International film festivals planned in 29  different countries across the world.  The movie is written and directed by R Pritam Shetty and National Award-winning producer Avinash U Shetty, also cinematography by V Pavan Kumar.
Pingara cast involves many theatre and film artists such as Neema Ray, Sharan Shetty, Usha Bhandary, Guru Hegde, Sinchan Chandramohan, Sunil Nelligudde and Prashanth C K.
Speaking about the main storyline of the film, Avinash Shetty said, the film depicts the story of three generations and forces people to respect people of lower castes.
The character of a divine interpreter is the central focus of the film and the movie includes many fresh faces as well, he added.
He also said that the Art direction is done by Janardhan and is one of the best aspects of the film
The film was shot in Bailuru and surrounding areas in Karkala in 14 days.
The Screenplay of the film was by Ganesh Neerchal and Sheshachal Kulkarni, Music by Mime Ramdas and Sheena Nadoli, Lyrics by Shashiraj Rao Kavoor and Amruth Someshwar.
