Displaying exceptional batting skills and looking in great form in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022, Virat Kohli has become the highest run-getter in the T20 World Cup history.

Kohli surpassed former Sri Lankan skipper Mahela Jayawardene’s total of 1,016 runs in just 23rd innings of T20 World Cup during the India vs Bangladesh match on November 2, played at Adelaide.

Jayawardene had taken 31 innings to make a mark.

Although there’s a lot to speak about Kohli’s performance in this year’s T20 World Cup edition, soon after the match on November 2, spectators flooded Twitter with their tweets hailing Kohli and calling him “King” and GOAT”.

A Twitter user named @Mohit18vk tweeted, “Virat Kohli has 13 fifties from just 23 innings in the T20 World Cup. The GOAT in T20l”

User @Balaji74005189 tweeted, “Virat Kohli in this T20WorldCup2022”. With scores mentioned he went on to write, “220 runs at 220 average with 3 fifties in 4 innings. King Kohli dominating like usual in the WC”.

Twitter user @Aliya_Zain5 tweeted, “Virat Kohli had a chat with KL Rahul yesterday at practice session and today he gave a comeback. And that’s why he is a GOAT!”
