Bengaluru: Two people died after they accidentally falling off from the second-floor of a pub located in city’s Church Street on Friday, June 21 night.

The deceased are identified as Pawan, who works in a private publication company, and Vedha, who worked in an IT firm.

As per the sources, the duo, who were in an inebriated state, was walking down a flight of stairs when they lost their balance and stumbled onto the window next to the flight of stairs. The window frame, which was made out a sub-standard material, gave way and both fell out of the window.

Vedha died on the spot, while Pawan succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, informed sources.

Following the incident, a video of Pawan falling on a portico just below the window and then crashing onto a car that was parked below was put out by the news channels.

A criminal case has been registered under Section 304A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at the Cubbon Park police station against the owner of the builder, the pub license holder, and the manager, on charges of death by negligence.
