The district’s COVID-19 mortality rate too has dropped from 1.1 per cent to 1 per cent. Till date, 186 people have died from the virus.

Presently, there are only 427 COVID-19 cases in the district.

Speaking about the achievement of the district Dr Prashsant Bhat, COVID-19 Nodal Officer of Udupi district said: “Udupi district tops the State district in COVID-19 recovery. COVID-19 cases are decreasing day by day. Yet people need to be more careful and follow the rules and guidelines.”
