Udupi: District’s last COVID-19 patient recovers

Udupi: The third and final COVID-19 positive patient in the district was discharged after recovery on Saturday, April 18. The district now is COVID-19-free.
The recovered patient is a resident of Badagabetti in the district. He is an electrician by profession and was returning from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala along with 31 others after finishing work there. Due to the border being sealed at Talapadi, he and others were brought in an Ambulance to Udupi district hospital on March 27 and were quarantined there.
On March 29, his samples tested positive for COVID-19.
Initially, he was admitted at Manipal and was shifted to Dr T M A Pai Hospital at Udupi on April 1.
He will be in a 14 day home quarantine to check for any relapse of the virus.
