Udupi: Excise SI killed after being hit by speeding lorry

Udupi: A Sub-Inspector rank officer of the Excise Department lost his life after being hit by a speeding lorry on Thursday night.
The accident occurred at Ambagilu in Udupi on Thursday evening.
Sub-Inspector Shankar (52) of the Excise Department, who was riding a motorbike, was knocked down by the speeding lorry. Seriously injured, he was rushed to the district hospital but died later without responding to treatment.
Shankar was a resident of Uppoor in Brahmavar.
A case has been registered at the Udupi traffic station and an investigation is underway.
