Kaup: The Forest Department successfully caught a leopard at Mujuru gram panchayat’s Paduru-Koralu here.
The Department officials had placed a trap at the request of local villagers as the leopard has been disturbing them for the past few days by preying on domestic animals.
The leopard had fallen into the trap on Sunday night. The villagers immediately informed the Department after seeing the trapped leopard.
The Department then arranged to move the four-year-old leopard to the Kollur sanctuary on Monday morning.
This is the third leopard caught by the Forest Department in last one year.
