Udupi: Free bus services from May 25 to 30

Udupi: Free bus service will be operated on six routes around the city between May 25 and 30.
MLA Raghupati Bhat stated while speaking to reporters on Sunday, May 24.
The bus services will be sponsored by Kadiyali Sarvajanika Ganeshotsava Samiti and the Asare Charitable Trust.
These limited-service busses will run on the following routes:
1. Hoode-Thottam-Malpe-Udupi-Manipal-Parkala
2. Hoode-Kemmannu-Santhekatte-Cherkady-Pethri-Brahmavar
3. Alevoor-Korangrapady- Udupi-Manipal-Rajatadri-Udupi-Diana-Alevoor
4. Sampige Nagar-Kadekar-Ambalpady-Udupi-Manipal-Parkala
5. Pragati Nagar-Manipal-Udupi-Kalsank-Gundibail-Doddanagudde-Perampalli Church
6. Malpe-Gardimajalu-Santhekatte-Udupi; Kalathur-Santhekatte-Cherkady-Pethri-Brahmavar
A new experimental automated ticketing system will be introduced in these buses. Passengers will be given ‘Chalo Card’ for free which they will be using during travel in these buses.
The rechargeable card must be brought near to a machine installed in the bus and the conductor will later give passengers a printed ticket.
If there is a positive response from the people then the number of buses will be increased stated president of City Bus Operators’ Association, Kuilady Suresh Nayak.
