Udupi Gets Another Feather to its Crown as Houseboat Service to Begin in Backwaters

Udupi: In an attempt to attract the tourists and promote tourism in Coastal Karnataka, a houseboat constructed in Kerala style will move on River Swarna in Udupi district from April 08, this year. The houseboat is very likely to attract the tourists who visit beaches, rivers in Dakshina Kannada to spend their holidays. Swarna river backwaters are likely to provide enchanting experience to the tourists who arrive at temple city, Udupi.
Three categories of house boat tour has been arranged for the tourists on Swarna river backwaters. The houseboat will run in morning, evening, and night based on the requirement of the tourists. Facilities including, food, kitchen, party hall wash room and others are available within the boathouse. Service of expert swimmers is also available to handle any emergency in and out side of the houseboat. The houseboat has capacity to handle 25 to 40 members at a time and is scheduled to travel from 8 to 10 kilometer in the river. The boat is is expected to start its service from April 8, 2017 on wards.
