Manipal: All outpatient facilities at Kasturba Hospital here have been suspended from July 21 to July 26 as a precautionary measure against the spread of COVID-19.
Hospital’s Medical Superintendent issued a press release stating that the number of COVID-19 cases in the Udupi district is increasing substantially, and many of our health workers have been infected with the virus in the past few days. Thus the entire hospital is being sanitised and a 200 bed COVID facility is being prepared. Hence, the outpatient department will be closed for a few days.
The outpatient department will be serving as usual after July 27, he said.
In the time a video consultation facility has been started from July 20. Under this facility, physicians will provide counselling and medical advice by telephone or video call. All department physicians can be contacted by video consultation by calling on 080 47192235 from Monday to Friday between 9.00 am to 4.00 pm. Accident and emergency services will be operational as usual, he added.
