Udupi: The body of a man buried at Beedinagudde Cemetary in Udupi about two years ago was reportedly exhumed by the Punjab Police on Saturday, May 14.

In December 2020, an unidentified man, aged about 31 years, was found dead under suspicious circumstances at Malpe. As there were no claimants police had buried the body at Beedinagudde in an unmarked grave.

The case had similarities to the person whom the Punjab police were searching for. The last location of Tejinder Singh (31) who had been kidnapped, was Udupi. Punjab police suspect the unknown person found at Malpe to be Tejinder.

To verify this, the body was exhumed after getting the necessary permissions. A DNA test will be carried out to check if it is the same person wanted by the Punjab police.
