Udupi: Intensified rainstorms in the district has caused flooding in many areas causing panic among residents anticipating a repeat of last year’s floods.

All low-lying areas have submerged due to the heavy rains pouring from Saturday evening.

The entire open ground in front of the Kunjur Sri Durga Temple near Kaup and the surroundings are flooded.

Other low lying areas in the Kaup taluk such as Belapu, Adamaru, Ermalu, Majuru, Kutyaru and Innaje are all at risk of flooding if rains continue lashing.
