Udupi: Non-Kannada nameboards in the town’s famous Sri Krishana Matha were replaced with Kannada nameboards on December 3.
The Tulu and Kannada language nameboards had come under attack by Kannada Sahitya Parishad’s district chief who objected to the omission of Kannada on them.
An official of the Matha’s administration stated that as the non-Kannada nameboards were ready during the Lakshdweepotsava, they were installed first.
Now that the Kannada nameboards have come we have affixed them, he added.
