Ullal: 18-year-old girl drowns after boat capsizes in Netravathi River

Mangaluru: A girl 18-year-old girl drowned on Sunday, January 19 after a boat capsized in the river Netravati at Uliya Hoige, Ullal near here.

The deceased has been identified as Renita, a resident of Miyapadavu. Other people who were travelling in the boat were rescued by locals.

Reportedly, Renitaalong with five of her classmates had attended the annual feast of the church here. While returning home, the boat capsized due to heavy winds and she drowned in the river. However, locals managed to rescue four other girls who were in the boat.
