Ullal: Auto rickshaw loses control, topples; driver dies on spot

Ullal: A auto rickshaw driver died on spot in the late hours of Monday, September 12 as the rickshaw lost control and fell into a pit.

The deceased is identified as Sapalya (70), a resident of Someshwar.

On Monday late night, reportedly, Sapalya had gone to drop a passenger at Deralakatte. While returning, he lost control over the rickshaw near the Assisi Central School. Eventually, the rickshaw toppled and fell into a roadside pit.

Due to the impact, Sapalya suffered major injuries. He succumbed to the injuries.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered in the Mangaluru South Traffic Police Station.

He is survived by his wife and a daughter.
