Ullal: Police officer stabbed by accused in theft case while attempting to nab him

Ullal: A police officer was stabbed on Wednesday by a man, who is accused in several theft cases, while he was attempting to arrest him from Pavoor village, Kavoor.

The man identified as Sadik is accused of stealing high-end watches and later reselling them for profits.

The police had received a tip regarding his whereabouts and Konaje police sub-inspector (PSI) Sharanappa raided his house.  When he tried to arrest Sadik, he stabbed the policeman with a knife and escaped from the spot.

The injured policeman has been admitted at K S Hegde Hospital at Deralakatte.
