Unemployed youth commits suicide over depression

Bengaluru: A 22-year-old unemployed graduate has committed suicide by hanging himself at his parent’s home in Bagaluru on Thursday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Sunil Kumar. He lived in Mahadev Kodigehalli with his parents and his brother. At around 2 am on Thursday morning, his parents saw him for the last time, drinking water the kitchen. The next morning Sunil would not open his room door in spite of knocking repeatedly.
Bagaluru police suspect that Sunil hanged himself between 2 am and 6 am on Thursday. They found a suicide note. He apologised to his parents for not being a good child. In the note he had specified how he didn’t get a job after completing B.Com and wrote that he was responsible for his own death.
The police said that Sunil had been depressed for a couple of months as he had got a job. His parents knew about his depression. A case of unnatural death has been registered by Bagaluru police. Further investigations are on.
