Hubli: DK Shivakumar has accused the Uttar Pradesh government of covering up the Hathras rape case in the State.
Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, October 3 he said, “The whole world is aware of the rape of a young Dalit woman. But now they are saying that no such thing has happened. They did not even allow Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi to console the grieving family.
He further accused that the Yogi government has illegally detained the deceased’s family, changed the physician’s records on the death of the woman and declared the entire village as a containment zone restricted entry as proof of the cover-up.
Responding to Minister Anand Singh’s statement that whether the State government will last long, he said: “It would be better for the BJP to answer it. Observing the developments in the BJP, every such confusing things are coming out. We will wait and see what will happen ahead. There is no doubt that the State’s BJP government is working under pressure.”
He alleged that the government is only doing the transfer of officials and not any development.
He also alleged that after the death of Suresh Angadi, BJP has is facing a shortage of winnable candidates for the Belgaum Lok Sabha constituency, hence they might try to delay the bye-election to the seat.
