UTK demands probe into alleged irregularities in PPE kits

Mangaluru: Former health minister and MLA UT Khader on Wednesday, July 15 demanded a probe into alleged irregularities indulged in by the Chief Minister BS Yeiyuapa led state government in procuring masks and other equipment relating to COVID-19 management.
Khader said, “Our government os buying PPE kits for the health workers at double the actual price. There is a huge price difference between the safety kits available in the market and the things bought by the government. Therefore I demand a detailed and impartial investigation into this aspect.”
He further requested the state government to employ rural workers under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act and also attend to the issues faced by ASHA workers.
