- Police suspect the caller
Badiyadka: Jaison Joseph (55), a rubber tapping labourer and a resident of Valakunja near Pallatadka has informed the police that a team of armed naxalites including ladies had visited his house and taken rice and vegetables after asking for it.
On Jan 15th, Jaison called the police in the afternoon and informed them of the visit by the naxals. However, the police did not take it seriously. But in the evening, when he called once again and informed that two armed lady naxalites had visited his house again and taken vegetables and rice, the police finally took it seriously. The police then visited the spot and gathered information. The locals helped the police in their operation. But they failed to get any lead regarding the visit by the naxalites. At the same time, Jaison’s wife denied her husband’s saying that the naxalites had visited his house and assured the police that no such incident had taken place.
Police suspicious of the caller
The place where the naxalites have been claimed to have visited is not a forest area. Since it is a residential area with enough people around, the police expressed doubts on Mr Jaison’s claims. If it is proved that he has given false information to misguide the police, action will be taken against him, they informed.
