Vehicles transport starts between Sampaje-Madikeri road

- Ban on heavy vehicle entry remains in force
Sullia: The district administration has given permission allowing KRTC buses and most other vehicle to pass in between Sampaje-Madikeri national highway from Sunday Nvember 18th. But any heavy vehicle with greater capacity than an LCV has been banned from entering this route.
Since the natural disaster, the district administration of both the districts had passed an order banning all vehicular movement. Later light vehicle movement was started but was soon banned again. Last month, temporary repair work of the stretch was completed post which most of the light vehicles were passing through.
Highway not completed
Vehicular movement between Sampaje-Madikeri will be allowed until further orders, stated a release from the district administration and regional transport authority. Since the road is still undergoing repair partly and permanent works, permission has not been given for the all types of vehicles to enter. The previous ban has been partly revoked for the convenience of the public, informed he release.
Vehicular movement begins
In reaction to the district administrations permission, close to 70% of bus movement began on Sunday itself. From Monday onwards, all buses will be functioning, informed Sullia KSRTC Divisional Officer to “Udayavani”.
