Veteran actor HG Somashekhar passes away

Bengaluru: HG Somashekhar, a veteran of the Kannada television and movie industry, passed away on the afternoon of November 3.
86-year-old Somashekhar was suffering from age-related illness.
Somashekhar, a bank officer, was interested in literature, theatre, film and television. He made his entry into cinema through the TS Ranga-directed movie ‘Savitri.’
He acted in ‘Mithileya Siteyaru,’ ‘Harakeya Kuri’ and many other movies.
He was awarded the Best Supporting Actor Award by the State Government in 1992-93 for his performance in ‘Harakeya Kuri.’
After retiring from his bank job Somashekhar fully involved himself in theatre.
