Mangaluru: MP Nalin Kumar Kateel’s statement on MP Veerappa Moily over Vijaya Bank merger is baseless and a lie, said district in charge minister U T Khader said on Wednesday, January 16.
Speaking to media Mr Khader said, “MP Nalin’s statement is political motivated. He has no proof. I have discussed it with Moily who was in the finance committee. There was no such proposal of merger which came to the notice of finance committee.”
“Nalin is n Mp and he should have pressurised the central government by forming delegations from both the districts. Since six months, the MP was mum and all of a sudden, he criticises Moily for no reason. Nalin Kumar has claimed that the resolution was passed during the finance committee meeting. If it is so, let him disclose the agenda with proof. It is not right to confuse public and play politics in the name of Vijaya Bank,” he said.
“Moily has already written to the central government opposing the merger of Vijaya Bank. He has even written to MP Nalin showing his dissatisfaction over his criticism regard to Vijaya Bank merger,” he added.
