Vitla: In a shocking incident, a man murderously attacked a woman with a weapon, seriously wounding her, in full public view here.
The incident took place at Pariyaltadka market area in Punacha village on Saturday.
Shekhar Poojary (50) allegedly attacked Lata, a resident of Natakallu Navagrama in Punacha, sources said.
Lata was rushed to the Vitla Community Health Center, and thereafter referred to a hospital in Puttur for further treatment, sources added.
The exact reason for the attack was not immediately known.
Vitla Police are investigating the case.
