Vitla: Youth assaulted for talking to fellow girl student in bus; case filed

Vitla: In yet another case of moral policing, a gang assaulted a student allegedly for talking to a fellow student belonging to another religion while travelling in a bus.

The victim Mohammed Shakir, a resident of Veerakamba village is pursuing his studies at a private college in Balmatta.

Based on Shakir’s complaint, Vitla police registered a case against Chandrasekhar, Prajwal, Rohit, and three other residents of Kelinja.

Shakir in his complaint said that he had boarded a KSRTC bus to go home after finishing college on Thursday. During the ride, he offered chocolate to the student sitting next to him on the bus.

When the bus reached Kelinja village, the accused barged into the bus and assaulted him he claimed.
