‘Vote over Health & Life for BJP’, says Siddaramaiah on free vaccine promise in Bihar

Bengaluru: Slamming the BJP for promising free Covid-19 vaccine for all in poll-bound Bihar, former state chief minister Siddaramaiah said that Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has made it clear that distribution of free vaccine is dependent on the poll outcome.

While releasing its election manifesto in Bihar, the saffron party on Thursday promised 19 lakh jobs and free vaccination against coronavirus for all in the state. The BJP meanwhile came under severe criticism by opposition parties and in general for politicising a health issue.

Reacting to this Siddaramaiah in a tweet said, “@FinMinIndia @nsitharaman has made it clear that distribution of free vaccine is dependent on the electoral outcome in Bihar. Should pandemic not be a concern for Central govt? What does @narendramodi have to say about this? Is it ‘Vote over Health & Life’ for @BJP4India?”

Further Siddaramaiah took the opportunity to take a potshot at BJP state President Nalin Kateel, whom he earlier termed the face of the anti-Yediyurappa squad, and wondered if Kateel will make way for another general election by conspiring against the chief minister and later promise free vaccine in the election manifesto.
