Bengaluru: Congress president DK Shivakumar on Wednesday, July 22 urged Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa to waive all property taxes, in urban local bodies and rural panchayats, for a period of one year on humanitarian grounds
Taking to Twitter Shivakumar said, “Citizens are bearing a huge financial brunt of the Corona Pandemic. It’s imperative on the Govt to ease the financial burden on citizens.
I urge CM Yediyurappa to waive all property taxes, in urban local bodies and rural panchayats, for a period of one year on humanitarian grounds.”
Earlier on Tuesday, Shivakumar had demanded the state government to give details of the amount it spent on migrants and laborers during the coronavirus crisis if it is transparent.
