Mangaluru: Mayor Kavitha Sanil announced that MCC is all set to store water at 6 metres at Thumbe reservoir from today.

The new vented dam has the storage capacity of seven metre and if water is stored up to 6 metres, it will meet the needs of Mangaluru and surrounding areas for 55 days.

It can be learnt that people from the district faced issues relating to water in the past years.

Mayor was keen to find a solution to this situation and was working ways to find a permanent solution to this.

DK DC  Sasikanth Senthil S had directed the MCC to raise the water level at Thumbe to six metres to mitigate water scarcity during the summer.
