WhatsApp hit by major outage; Users unable to send or receive messages

If you are unable to send or receive messages on WhatsApp, you are not alone. The Meta-owned popular messaging app has been hit by a major outage worldwide. Its users in various locations, including India, are currently unable to send or receive messages.

Both mobile and desktop versions of WhatsApp are facing issues. The outage is affecting personal as well as group chats. The problem seems to have started at around 12.45 PM Indian Standard Time.

Several users from across the globe reported problems faced in sending and receiving messages. DownDetector has received about 5000 complaints from countries across the globe.

WhatsApp has not revealed the reason for the outage, at the time of publishing this news.
