Ma Huateng, founder and CEO of Chinese Internet giant Tencent Holdings, is now the Richest Man in China
He has dethroned Alibaba Founder Jack Ma from being the richest man in china. Ma Huateng chairs Chinese Internet giant Tencent Holdings, which ranks among the nation’s largest businesses by market cap. Tencent’s popular social messaging app WeChat has more than 1 billion users.
Ma Huateng, was born on October 29, 1971 in Chaoyang, Guangdong province, China. Ma studied computer science at Shenzhen University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1993. He then worked in research and development for China Motion Telecom Development Ltd. before founding Tencent with several friends in 1998.
Known for developing some of China’s leading Internet platforms including the social messaging app WeChat, Tencent Holdings Limited went public on the main board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange on June 16, 2004.
Its digital content products include online games, video, live streaming, news, music, literature and in the gaming space, it provides some of the most popular titles including Honour of Kings, PUBG MOBILE and League of Legends. (IANS)
