Byndoor: An elderly woman attempted suicide by setting herself ablaze and later succumbed to burn injuries at the hospital. The deceased is identified as Uma (60), from Ambagilu in Uppunda village.
Apparently, the deceased was suffering from health complications chose the extreme step out of frustration in life. She committed the act when she was alone at home. She doused herself in kerosene and then set herself ablaze on July 15.
Although she was rushed to Manipal hospital immediately, she soon succumbed to her injuries. A case in this connection has been registered with Byndoor police.
