Chitradurga: MP A Narayanaswamy released an animal adoption app from the Zoo Authority of Karnataka at the Zilla Panchayat office here.
Speaking on the occasion, he said the ZAK App will facilitate online ticketing for zoo visitors, adoption of animals and donations to the zoo.
He added that the app would be useful for donors and animal adopters for the development of the zoo in Chitradurga.
Deputy Conservator of Forests Chandrasekhar Naik said that the public would be able to book tickets through the app instead of waiting in line during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Assistant Conservator of Forests Raghavendra said that the number of tourists visiting the zoo after COVID-19 crisis began has reduced and the cost of maintenance of the zoo has increased. It costs between Rs 1 and 2 lakhs to feed the animals each day. The trouble is to bring in new animals. Animal lovers can adopt and donate for the animals.
