Kukkundur woman murder case; Police recover victim’s gold

Karkala: The police have recovered the Rs. 1 lakh worth gold ornaments that was stolen and sold by the murder accused Mohammed Riyaz after committing the murder of Florine Machado (54), a resident of Ayyappa Nagar in Kukkundur village.
The accused had stolen the gold ornaments of the victim after committing her murder.
On July 17th, the accused was produced at the court which remanded him to police custody for 5 days. As per the information divulged by the accused, the police team under the leadership of the investigating officer Joy Anthony, visited Sunil Jewelers at Andheri in Mumbai and recovered the stolen gold ornaments including from a gold chain and a pendant, together worth Rs. 1,50,000.
On July 20th, the accused was again produced at the court which sentenced him to 14 days of judicial custody.
