66 affected families return back home

Sullia: 66 families who had taken shelter at the gruel centres have returned back to their homes. After the completion of the essential processes, the affected families were sent back home in the presence of the tahsildar Kunamma on Thursday.

Relief materials distributed

Based on the opinion of the geology scientists and since the conditions at Devarakolli, Sampaje, Arekal regions had normalized, It was decided to send back the people at Arantodu, Sampaje, Kallugundi centers on Wednesday.

Every family was provided with Rs. 3,800 cash, 25 kgs of rice and other materials. The affected have been sent back through vehicles and by evening, most of them had reached home.

On Wednesday, 6 families had left and 60 families left on Thursday. More than 150 families are still remaining at the gruel centre informed the Revenue Department. Assistant Commissioner visited and analyzed the situation on Thursday morning.

Aadhaar distribution

Dakshina Kannada district administration had created Aadhaar facility for the affected who had lost their Aadhaar Card and the same was distributed on Thursday.

Restoration work at Jodupala has been completed. Land hoes are removing mud from the roads at Monnangeri. Till Thursday evening, the surface of the road was not yet visible. Since half of the hill has collapsed on to the road, the restoration work is being done on the possible estimation of the extent of the road.
