Moodbidri: The police arrested yet another person for his alleged involvement in the murder of Sudarshan Jain from Hosabettu Kadambaraguthu.
The arrested, identified as Prasad alias Pachchu, 35, a Siddakatte resident has been remanded to judicial custody after being produced before a court here.
Earlier the police have arrested Sudhir Jain, Sandeep Shetty from Hokkadigoly; Balaraj and Prabha alias Prabhakar both Arambody residents.
Sudhir Jain, the prime accused in the case had reportedly plotted the murder of his elder brother Sudarshan over some money dispute. On August 11 this year, Sudhir met Sudarshan near his workplace and offered to drop him home on his bike. On the way, he, however, pretended that his vehicle had developed some fault and asked Sudarshan to go ahead in the car in which his friends were seated. An unsuspecting Sudarshan was strangulated and stabbed by Sudhir’s friends and his body tossed into river Falguni at Puchchamogaru.
Sudarshan’s body was recovered from Maravoor dam on August 17 after which a case was registered at Moodbidri police station.
