Forest officers bust deer antlers smuggling attempt; arrest five

Kundapur: A team 5 persons attempting to smuggle 21 deer antlers in an Omni car have been busted by the Kundapur Forest Officers team at Koteshwara by-pass on Thursday evening January 10th.
The arrested culprits are identified as Kundapur Barekattu resident Dinesh Ganiga (54), Balehitlu mane resident Ravi (35), Albadi village resident Thonnase Deepak (32) Albadi village Guddemane resident Ravichandra Shetty (32) and Thonnase Bukkagadde resident Udaya Naika (35).
The 21 antlers worth several lakh rupees and the omni car used in its transportation have been seized. The operation was conducted under the guidance of forest unit DySP S S Kashi by sub inspectors Ravi Kumar, M S Ramamurthy, staff N Kumar and Paramesh.
