Mumbai institute wins WGSHA Quest 2019

Manipal: Sheila Raheja Institute of Hotel Management (SRIHM) Mumbai emerged winners of WGSHA Quest 2019, the annual festival of Welcomegroup Graduate School of Hotel Administration. Department of Hotel Management, Christ University, Bengaluru were the first runners-up and Culinary Academy of India, Hyderabad finished second runners.

The two-day WGSHA fest drew top teams from across the country and witnessed keen competition in all the events and a great camaraderie among the team members. And being students of hospitality industry, that feeling was even more noticeable. That’s precisely what Chef K. Thirugnanasambantham, Principal, WGSHA said while inaugurating the function. “Have fun and cherish the competitions rather than worrying about the results,” he said.

“Twenty-three colleges participated in the competitions, which have become, bigger and better, over the years”, said the Principal. The students showcased skills, talents, aptitude and dexterity as the participants experienced real life scenarios of hotel management operations. Competitions were held in; ‘Restaurant service skills’ (Classical fine dining service skills), ‘Globe Trotter’ (Film making), ‘Jeu-Concours’ (Quiz), Culinaire which included Gourmet Creation (Entree), “Painted Platters” (Pre-plated dessert), Mithaas (Indian dessert competition), ‘Food-o-graphy’ (Food photography), ‘Wow at every moment of truth’ (Front Office role play), ‘Floral flourish’ (Flower arrangement) ‘Sherlock it out’ (Treasure hunt) and Hotelier’s got talent (cultural talents).
