Sullia: Former union minister and senior Congress leader B. Janardhana Poojary’s statement supporting Modi and criticizing Congress leaders has caused a state of confusion. Therefore, Congress should initiate disciplinary action against him, demanded JD(S) district president Mohammed Kunni Vittal.

Speaking to the media Kunni said, On one hand, Poojary is stating that Modi should become the prime minister again and on the other hand, he is stating that he is aspiring for Congress party ticket to contest from the district. He is criticizing former chief minister Siddaramaiah and others. He says that some should be given the ticket. Who is he to give such statements during the election phase, asked Mr Kunni.

Poojary has lost 3-4 times in elections. His own community and the minorities have rejected him. Therefore, Congress must not remain silent to his statements. Since JD(S)-Congress are a coalition government, we have given information on this development to the state leaders, he said.

Will support if he is given the ticket

Responding to a query on what would be JD(S)’s stand if Poojary was given the ticket he said, is it possible for Poojary to get a ticket when he is saying that Modi should become the prime minister. If in case Congress party gives him a ticket, we will not oppose. We will provide support. It I our duty as a coalition party, he said.
