Complaint filed against husband and his family
Shirva: Sangeeta (26) committed suicide by hanging at her husband’s house at Arasikatte in Bantakallu on Saturday.
It is alleged that the deceased woman was being mentally and physically tortured by her husband Sujay, mother-in-law Kusuma and sister-in-law Sujata. Apparently, when the victim was two months pregnant, the trio had forcefully made her to consume tablets and abort her child.
This is the very reason she was deeply hurt and attempted suicide by hanging using her chudidhar shawl. Although she was rushed to the district hospital, her life could not be saved.
Suhas, the brother of the deceased woman had filed a complaint with Shirva police accusing his sister’s husband, sister-in-law and mother-in-law of inflicting mental and physical torture, forcefully committing abortion and enticing a person to commit suicide.
