CFI demands closure of Mangalore One School by June 1

Mangaluru: Campus Front of India (CFI) district committee on Friday, Apri staged a demonstration against the management of Mangalore One school and demanded closure of the school from June 1.

A three-and-half-year-old girl, studying in LKG of this school was sexually abused by the said school van driver on March 13, 2015.

Alleging that the school was trying to save the rapist, the protesters who gathered outside the school premises at Thokottu stated that if the school is not shut down from June 1, they would intensify the protest and forcibly pull down the shutters of the school if their demands are not met.

They criticised the school for trying to hush up the matter and shield the accused despite the medical reports confirming rape on a nursery child.

The Organisation demanded that the school be booked under POCSO Act before June 1. It also demanded cancellation of school recognition and ban on use of private vehicles in the school premises.

Campus Front India district President Irshad Bajpe, district Chief Secretary Fayaz Manjanady, Ullal zonal President Irshad and other office-bearers participated in the demonstration.
