Housewife murdered, gold and cash robbed

Bengaluru: A 26-year-old house wife was found dead with a slit throat at her house in Kasturba Nagar in West Bengaluru on Thursday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Kavitha, a homemaker. Kavitha was married to Shivaram, who works for a plywood firm in Nayandahalli. The couple had two children.
The incident took place on Thursday morning when Kavitha went to drop her children to school and returned back home. When she opened the door, the suspect pushed her inside the house from behind and locked it. He robbed all the gold and cash and slit Kavitha’s throat and fled the spot.
The murder came to light when Kavitha’s father Shivaswamy and sister-in-law Mangalagowri visited Kavitha’s house around 10.30 am. They immediately informed the police.
The police have collected CCTV camera footage from areas in and around and suspect that a known person could have committed the murder.
According to the investigation the injury on her neck was so deep that the killer made sure that she was dead.
The police are yet to conclude on how many suspects were involved in the crime. Kavitha’s husband has filed a complaint that the gold and cash amounting to Rs. 1.4 lakhs were also missing from the house.
The Byatrayanapura police have registered a case of murder.
